I have always loved sports and being active, running and competitive
swimming. I was an avid gym goer through my late teens and early 20’s, enjoying high impact classes and weight training.
Chancing upon a new yoga class that had started at my gym I was intrigued to find out what yoga involved.
Despite being in- flexible, weak in the core and holding my breath during most of the class, afterwards I noticed a real sense of renewed energy- I was hooked!
Years on, after instruction from several amazing teachers I cannot imagine a day of my life without yoga.
For me personally, my journey began in a physical way. Developing an understanding of the various postures, how to get in and out of them, growing stronger AND yes more flexible! As my practice developed, I learnt how the breath and the body flow together, bringing about a glorious feeling of balance and wellbeing.
I was encouraged to start a teacher training course by one of my teachers, it seemed a natural step in wanting to share with others my joy of this practice alongside its numerous whole body/mind benefits.
I started Yoga Viva ( Viva meaning to live!) after years of working for other companies and naturally developing my own style and growing in confidence. I offer non judgemental classes that allow students to develop at their own pace. I bring a sense of fun and humour to class and encourage playfulness.
I can’t wait to share my experience and support you as you embark on or carry on with your yoga journey.
I am the eternal student, on my yoga journey, constantly learning, researching, evolving and practising!
Have faith, keep practising, keep an open mind and listen to your body.
You’re amazing xx
